When combining standing crops such as oats, wheat, or maize, the rigid cutterbar must be adjusted to mid or fully extended position. Fully extended position is also recommended when using a bat reel, as in short light crops, to "sweep" the cutterbar.
For maize, sunflowers, etc., you might need to raise the auger.
Set reel so slats strike just below lowest grain heads and just ahead of knife.

Pickup reel fingers must be set at right angles to cutterbar.
Lock out flex cutterbar.
The divider points on a flex platform might be too long for use in standing grain crops and can be removed.
