Checking Reel Height
IMPORTANT:
Cutterbar/Skid Plate tilt must be set before adjusting reel height. When platform is equipped with hydraulic fore/aft, the reel height must be checked with reel positioned directly above cutterbar on rigid platforms and fully retracted on flex platforms.
Pickup Reel (Rigids and Flexes in Rigid Mode) - A 38 mm (1-1/2 in.) minimum clearance between the tips of the reel fingers and the cutterbar must be kept. Less than this can result in cut off reel fingers.
Before operating flex platform in flex mode, reel must be readjusted. Place a 4 x 4 under the center and each end of the cutterbar (4 x 4 should not extend past the rear of the skid shoe).
Lower header fully
Minimum clearance must be 38 mm (1-1/2 in.).
Slat Reel- Keep 25 mm (1 in.) minimum clearance between slats and cutterbar. Less clearance can result in damage to reel slat.
