Cutterbar/Skid Plate Tilt Adjustment
IMPORTANT:
Platform must be on combine and cutterbar locked out to make platform rigid before adjusting cutterbar tilt, leveling cutterbar, adjusting range indicator (if so equipped) and adjusting reel clearance. Adjusting tilt without first locking out the cutterbar will result in erratic operation of the ACTIVE HEADER CONTROL (AHC)
system.
The tilt adjustment is made for platform cutterbar/skid plate to ground relationship. It is an adjustment made to compensate for tire size and other variables, but, MUST also be used to make the cutterbar straight.
Adjust as follows:
Check left-hand and right-hand side tire pressure or tire rim height; they should be equal, and at correct pressure.
Be certain platform is level (refer to combine Operator's Manual).
Lock-out flex cutterbar (see Locking-Out Flex Cutterbar).
Loosen nut (B) about 1.5 mm (1/16 in.) on both sides.
CAUTION:
Lower feederhouse cylinder safety stop when working under platform. Set parking brake, shut off engine and remove key.
To level cutter bar:
Adjust left- and right-hand tilt channels until there is 19 mm (3/4 in.) of bolt showing in gap (A) between nut and bottom of tilt pin. Hold nut and tighten bolt.
Adjust stabilizer spring assembly before adjusting center tilt channels.
Use string from both ends of platform along tips of cutterbar guards to line them up, then adjust remaining tilt channels until cutterbar is straight.
