Chopper (General Information)

CAUTION: Do not let anyone stand behind the chopper while it is running. Combine engine must be off, park brake set and key removed before adjusting chopper.

Normal use wears the bottom of the chopper fins to a sharp edge.

Start with the chopper on low speed and knife bank out. If cut length is not fine enough the first adjustment should be to slide the knife bank in.

If cut length is still not acceptable then chopper should be placed on high speed and knife bank out.

Final attempt at reducing residue length should be chopper on high speed and knife bank in.

Less power is consumed when chopper is on low speed and knife bank is out. Blade life is also increased on slow speed.
