The following suggestions will help when operating in weedy conditions.
Cut grain as high as possible.
Try to avoid weeds and undergrowth.
Check to see cylinder is operating at the right speed.
Make following adjustments to platform:
1.
Move reel back and down. Adjust pitch of reel tines at right angles to cutterbar (see Adjusting Reel Tine Position in adjustment section).
2.
Adjust auger down and back (see Adjusting Auger Height and Adjusting Auger Fore/Aft in adjustment section).
3.
Remove paint, rust, dirt or crop residue from platform floor under auger.
4.
Remove optional feeder house closure strips. Use strips only to prevent wrapping of feeder conveyor drive shaft.

Make following adjustments to combine:
1.
To prevent tailings from being thrown down the feeder house and restricting flow of material in auger finger area, adjust cylinder front door stripper as close to the cylinder as possible. (See combine Operator's Manual).
2.
Adjust feeder conveyor drum "float" to grain position (see combine Operator's Manual). Incorrect drum height (drum "float" adjusted to corn position) causes most feeding problems.
3.
Adjust feeder conveyor chain for correct distance above feeder house bottom. (See combine Operator's Manual).
4.
Adjust feeder conveyor chain speed for grain crops, by installing drive chain on the LARGER tooth sprocket. (See combine Operator's Manual).
