Chaffer-Remove And Install
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove straw chopper (if equipped) to remove chaffer. Chopper must be in fully raised position. 1. If equipped with a straw chopper, remove cap screws (A) and air chutes (B) from both sides. |

CAUTION:
Shut off engine, set park brake and remove key to help prevent accidental starting and personal injury.

Raise spreader (if equipped) and remove pins (B).
3. Remove spreader disks (A).

4.
Loosen gauge adjustment screw (A) in chaffer element (B).

5.
Slide chaffer opening gauge (A) inside chaffer element.

6.
Remove chaffer retaining bolts (A) and springs from both sides.
7. Remove chaffer element out rear of machine. 8. Inspect grain seals on chaffer element. 9. Repair or replace as necessary. 10. Install chaffer element in rear of machine. 11. Install chaffer retaining bolt assembly (A) on both sides. Tighten to specifications. Specification

Slide opening gauge (A) through sidesheet.
13. Calibrate opening gauge to proper dimension. a. Crank chaffer to full open position.

b. Close slowly until average opening measures approximately 8 mm with combine clearance gauge (A). c. Slide opening gauge (B) to read 8 mm at sidesheet (C).

d. Tighten gauge adjustment screw (A) in chaffer element (B).

14.
If equipped with a straw chopper, install air chutes (B) with cap screws (A) on both sides.
15. Install spreader disks and lower straw spreader.
