Adjust the feeder house drive belt to get the slow front shaft speed for the cutting platform.
Start engine, engage separator and move switch to fast idle. Slow feeder house all the way down.
Turn off separator and stop engine and remove key. Look under rubber boot (A) to see if upper sheaves are fully open. At low speed position, outer sheave half bulb will be against bracket (B).
IMPORTANT:
A gap between sheave halves is important so sheave halves can grip belt when in slow speed position. Cutting platform drive shaft speed must be at slow speed.
Check lower sheave gap for 3 mm (1/8 in.) clearance between sheaves. If gap is too small, raise idler pulley (C) to take up more belt. If gap is too large, drop idler

pulley to release more belt. Operate feeder house for a few seconds, stop engine and remove key. Recheck lower sheave gap and adjust again if necessary. Recheck lower sheave gap. If 3 mm (1/8 in.) gap is not obtainable by moving idler, then:
Move idler back to low position 25 mm (1 in.) from bottom slot. Loosen cap screws (D) and nut (E). Loosen nut (F) and back it off 1 turn. Move upper variable sheave assembly with bolt (G) until 3 mm gap exists between lower sheave halves or upper sheave assemble reaches end of slots.
NOTE:
Nut (E) may be moved and jammed against nut (F), then together can be used to turn bolt (G).
Tighten nut (F) and then (E). Tighten cap screws (D).
Install feeder house shields.
