Active Header Float (Optional) - Rigid Platforms

Active Header Float system allows a rigid header to follow the ground by maintaining a constant feeder house lift cylinder pressure, which is selected by the operator.

Active Header Float system must be properly calibrated for each header that is used with the combine (see Float Calibration in Calibration and Procedures section.)

Activation buttons 1, 2 and 3, located on the multi-function lever, can be used for selecting three different header pressures.

NOTE: If Header Height Resume, Header Height Sensing and Active Header Float are enabled:

  • Button 1 activates Header Height Resume

  • Button 2 activates Header Height Sensing

  • Button 3 activates Active Header Float

If Header Height Resume and Active Header Float are enabled:

  • Button 1 activates Header Height Resume

  • Buttons 2 and 3 activates Active Header Float

If Header Height Sensing and Active Header Float are enabled:

  • Button 1 and 2 activates Header Height Sensing

  • Buttons 3 activates Active Header Float

If Header Height Sensing and Header Height Resume are enabled:

  • Button 1 activates Header Height Resume

  • Button 2 and 3 activates Header Height Sensing

Operation:

Active Header Float mode can be activated only when:

1. The engine is running.

The system is enabled by pressing switch (A) on the cornerpost display unit. Symbol (B) will appear on the display.

Activate the system by pressing one of the activation buttons 1,2 or 3 on the multi-function handle. Arrows (C) on each side of the symbol indicate that the system is active.

Number (D) in the lower left corner of the display indicates which activation button was pushed.

To change the pressure setpoint (E) of any of the activation buttons, press the desired activation button and adjust the pressure using the Height Control dial (F) to move the pressure setpoint.

Turning the dial towards the (+) symbol will increase the cylinder lift pressure setpoint, raising the header. Turning the dial towards the (-) symbol will decrease the cylinder lift pressure setpoint, lowering the header.

Bar graph (G) and number display (H) show the lift cylinder pressure.

Units are kPa for metric system and psi for English system

Manually raising the header with switch (I) on the multi-function handle will turn off the Active Header Float function.

Pressing any of the activation buttons will re-activate the system and the header will move to the selected pressure.

The system can be disabled by pressing switch (A).
