Cooling System-Filling

CAUTION: Avoid being scalded when radiator cap is removed. First turn cap slightly to the stop. This lets steam safely out the vent. Never fill radiator when engine is overheated unless engine is idling slowly. Pour coolant in slowly. Check coolant level when engine is cold.

Fill radiator until no more fluid can be added and fluid begins to run into the recovery tank.

Finish filling the system until fluid is at "HOT" mark on recovery tank.

Install cap on radiator, turn "ON" the heater and run engine until it reaches operating temperature.

Remove cap from recovery tank and refill as necessary. Do not fill recovery tank from radiator. Install cap on recovery tank.

When the engine is cool, the coolant level should be up to the "COLD" mark.

IMPORTANT: Never pour cold water into a hot engine as it might crack cylinder block or head. Do not operate engine without coolant.
