Fuel Filter-Replacement
NOTE:
Change fuel filter if performance decline is noticed or if Service Codes 94.01 and 94.18 have been generated on the cornerpost.
1.
Start engine and run 3 to 5 minutes at low idle if machine had not been previously operating.
2.
Shut "OFF" engine.
3.
Thoroughly clean exterior of fuel filter cap and surrounding area.
4.
Unscrew cap (A) and remove fuel filter.
5.
Operate hand primer (B) until fuel level is between lines (C) and (D) on filter housing.
CAUTION:
To avoid injury from splashing fuel, wear appropriate safety equipment when lowering filter into housing.
NOTE:
New fuel filter will install tight at first then loosen when lowered into the filter housing. SLOWLY lower filter into the housing to keep from splashing fuel.
6.
Lubricate seal (E) and carefully start new filter onto filter housing center tube, SLOWLY lower into bath of fuel.
7.
Install filter cap and tighten approximately 1/4 turn after it contacts the filter housing.
8.
Pump hand primer until resistance is felt. This will allow the engine to start faster.
9.
Start engine and run for 1 minute at low idle. If engine does not start or will not keep running. (See Bleeding the Fuel System)
