Adjust Auger Chain

causym CAUTION: Avoid serious injury. Raise platform and reel completely, set safety stops.

Avoid serious injury. Shut off engine and remove key.

Avoid serious injury from cutterbar movement when auger is turned, remove knife drive belt (see Remove Knife Drive Belt From Drive Sheave in Auger and Stripper Adjustments section).

Attach platform to machine before adjusting auger chain tension (see Attaching and Detaching section for procedures).

Open left-hand shield on platform.

Loosen nuts (A and B), tighten nut (C) and idler assembly (D) will slide down to tighten chain.

Adjust chain to specification.

Specification

Chain Tension -Tension 25 mm (1 in.)

NOTE: Rotate auger and recheck chain tension before tightening nuts.

Tighten nuts.
