Feeder House Conveyor Speed (Optional 9660 STS and 9760 STS High Speed Feeder House Sprocket)-Changing

causym CAUTION: Raise feeder house, lower safety stop, shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key.

NOTE: 22/38 tooth sprocket is available as a bundle, or included in "Tough Handling Package" option from factory. Optional on 9660 STS and 9760 STS combines and is not recommended on the 9560 STS.

Feeder house conveyor chain can be set to two different speeds by selecting drive sprocket (A) on right-hand side of lower shaft.

Use small sprocket for low speed and large sprocket for high speed.

Important Notes About Running With 38 Tooth Sprocket:

38 tooth sprocket is not recommended for corn use.

38 tooth sprocket should only be used with feeder house variable speed drive (if equipped) and set to slowest speed.

38 tooth sprocket is to be used in conditions when feeding is poor due to following crops and conditions:

  • Crops: Barley, Oats, Rice, Rye and Wheat
  • Conditions: High Volume, Green, Wet, Windrowed and Poor Feeding

If conditions are not tough, or as conditions change to improved feeding (dryer, more even windrows, lighter straw), it is recommended to change to the 22 tooth sprocket. This slows the chain speed, which reduces the potential for straw damage or pre-threshing and extends the feeder house chain life.
