Chopper Stationary Knife Blade-Adjustment
CAUTION:
Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key. Before performing service or maintenance on raised chopper, use lift actuator to snap lock-out pins into place.
Knives can be adjusted to any position. Position of knives determines cut length of material.
IMPORTANT:
Knives must be in "out" (not cutting) position for corn.
For long material, loosen bolt (A) (both sides) and slide knives "out". Tighten bolt.
For short material, loosen bolt (both sides) and slide knives "in". Tighten bolt.
NOTE:
In heavy crop conditions, chopper can be run on low speed with knives "out" to save power and increase blade life. However, in certain conditions, chaff particles in grain tank sample may increase slightly.
Use position in between to optimize power consumption and to achieve satisfactory chaff length.
