Corn Stalk Choppers (Optional)Factory installed corn stalk choppers are available for models 893 and 1291 headers. Chopper gear cases have two reservoirs that need to be filled with 80W90 oil. The reservoir located at the rear of the gear case (A) needs to be filled with 0.3 liters of oil and the front reservoir (B) needs to be filled with 0.9 liters of oil. Gearboxes are shipped from factory with oil. Each reservoir is equipped with a drain plug (C) and an oil fill plug (D) that needs to be removed to fill the reservoirs with oil. Oil should be changed between each harvest. When the knife blades become dull they can be flipped over so the opposite blade edge can be used. Once both edges are dull the knives must be replaced (See Replacing Corn Stalk Chopper Knives in this section).
