Avoid Electrocution from Power Line Entanglement
Low hanging power lines over fields or roads and between farm buildings can become entangled in parts of the combine and can result in the operator or a bystander suffering severe shock and possibly death.
To avoid electrical shock take these precautions:
Before transporting the combine on a public roadway lower the radio antenna to the horizontal position and completely close the grain tank covers.
Be aware of the power line elevation in fields and around farm buildings. If the elevation is not known ask the utility supplier.
Know the height of the combine. Refer to Dimensions in the Specifications section of this manual. When harvesting near low hanging power lines, lower the grain tank covers to the 15° position. When sufficiently clear of the power lines empty grain tank and fully open the covers.
Be aware of nearby power lines before extending the unloading auger. As the auger is extended its elevation increases.
Never stand on top of the grain tank covers or engine platform when the combine is parked underneath low hanging power lines.
