Operating Grain Tank Covers

causym CAUTION: Grain tank covers must be closed and radio antenna turned to horizontal position before transporting combine on roadway. Avoid contact with low hanging power lines and tree limbs. Lower grain tank covers to 15° open position.

IMPORTANT: Open grain tank covers to 15° open position or greater before engaging separator. Decals identifying the 15° open position can be seen on the clean grain auger through the rear cab window. The actuator will not open or close covers if grain is in the tank.

Grain tank covers open up to 90°. When covers are opened, the clean grain loading auger also swings up. Auger swings down when covers are closed.

When operating with covers open less than 90° grain tank capacity will be reduced. To avoid grain leakage when operating with covers less than 90°, do not let grain pile above the top of the base grain tank.

Grain tank covers are operated with an electric motor, which is activated by the grain tank switch (A) located into the cab.

  • To open grain tank covers push and hold the open-symbol (I).
  • To close grain tank covers push and hold the close-symbol (II).
