Premium Chopper and Chaff Spreader (General information)The premium chopper chops the straw discharged from the separator when configured to the chopping position. The chopping position is when the chopper is in the fully forward position and the clutch is engaged. The premium chopper can also be configured to drop the straw discharged from the separator into a windrow behind the machine. The drop straw position is when the chopper is in the fully rearward position and the clutch is disengaged. The chaff spreader spreads the chaff from the cleaning shoe to the width of the header when the chopper is configured to drop straw. When the chopper is configured to chop straw the chaff spreader provides a boost of air to the tailboard that helps spread the chaff and straw to the width of the header.
