Chopper Quality-Adjusting

causym CAUTION: Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key.

The chopper can chop many different types of crops. Knifebank and controller bar (A) should be adjusted depending on crop and chopping requirements.

Adjustments to the chopper affect the length of the straw and how much power is consumed.

Follow these recommendations on how to adjust the chopper in different crop types:

Cereals- (Wheat, Rye, Barley, Oats):

Controller bar (A) should be installed.

Knifebank can be in positions 1, 2, or 3 depending on the desired cut quality and moisture of the straw.

Position 1 takes the most power and if the straw is high in moisture, there is a risk that material will start to build up on the knifebank and power consumption will increase. If straw builds up, set knifebank to a less aggressive position.

It is more important to use the controller bar than to set the knifebank in a more aggressive position. Controller bar consumes less power compared with adjusting knifebank from position 2 to position 1.

Setting the knife bank for a higher cut quality will increase the power requirement of the chopper.

It is very important to adjust the chopper correctly considering the chopping results and combine capacity.

Rape:

If the crop is heavy, controller bar (A) should not be installed. Knifebank should be in position 4. A less aggressive position of the knifebank helps the material flow into the chopper.
