Tailboard Vanes-Adjusting

causym CAUTION: Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key.

NOTE: Tailboard is set from the factory to give an even spread pattern. Adjustments can be made by turning crank (A) and also by moving vanes individually at front and rear position.

Vanes can be adjusted for minimum and maximum spread width using crank (A).

Indicator (B) can be used as a reference when adjusting deflectors.

Vanes are adjusted to the left or right from the operator's cab with chopper vane adjust switch (A).

If the wind is blowing from the side, set the tailboard vanes against the wind.

Remove knob (A) on both sides of chopper tailboard.

NOTE: Adjusting chopper tailboard up or down allows the cut material to spread over a large area or narrow area.

Raise or lower chopper tailboard to desired position and install knob on both sides.

NOTE: Position 2 is the normal position for spreading cut material. Positions can be changed by raising or lowering chopper tailboard.

  • Position 1 - raises chopper tailboard. Cut material will spread over a large area.
  • Position 2 - middle position. Cut material will spread over a moderate area.
  • Position 3 - lowers chopper tailboard. Cut material will spread over a narrow area.
