Chopper Rotor Blades-Replacing
CAUTION:
Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key.
Chopper blades are sharp.
NOTE:
Worn blades increase power consumption and chopper quality is reduced.
Remove lock nut (A), cap screw (B), bushings (C), blades (D) and spacers (E).
NOTE:
If removing blades or bushings for inspection purposes, be certain to reinstall blades on SAME support from which they were removed. This must be done to maintain balance. It is a good practice to individually mark each blade before removal.
Inspect and if needed replace bushings. See your John Deere dealer for replacement parts.
IMPORTANT:
Chopper balance MUST be maintained. Replace opposite blade to maintain balance.
NOTE:
Reverse blades for additional usage, or replace blades if worn on both sides.
Install spacers, bushing, blades, cap screws and tighten lock nut to specification.
