Chaffer/Sieve Elements-Remove And Install
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the straw chopper (if equipped) to remove chaffer/sieve elements. Chopper must be in fully raised position. 1. If equipped with straw chopper, remove cap screws (A) and air chutes (B) from both sides. |

CAUTION:
Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key to help prevent accidental starting and personal injury.

Raise spreader (if equipped) and remove pins (B).
3. Remove spreader disks (A).

4.
Loosen gauge adjustment screw (A) in chaffer/sieve element (B).

5.
Slide chaffer/sieve opening gauge (A) inside chaffer/sieve element.

6.
Remove chaffer/sieve retaining bolts (A) and springs from both sides.
7. Slide chaffer/sieve element out rear of machine. 8. Inspect grain seals on chaffer/sieve element and repair or replace as needed. 9. Install chaffer/sieve element in rear of machine. 10. Install chaffer/sieve retaining bolt assembly (A) on both sides and tighten to specification. Specification

Slide chaffer/sieve opening gauge (A) through sidesheet.

12.
Calibrate opening gauge to proper dimension.
a. Crank chaffer/sieve to full open position. b. Close slowly until average opening measures approximately 8 mm (5/16 in.) with clearance gauge (A). c. Slide chaffer/sieve opening gauge (B) to read 8 mm at sidesheet (C).

d. Tighten gauge adjustment screw (A) in chaffer/sieve element (B).

13.
If equipped with straw chopper, install air chutes (B) with cap screws (A) on both sides.
14. Install spreader disks and lower straw spreader.
