Break-In Check After 100 Hours

Drain crankcase oil by opening drain (A) and close once oil has been drained.

6.8 L Engine: Remove and dispose of oil filter (B) properly.

6.8 L Engine: Clean filter mount base, apply oil to gasket and install new filter element. Hand tighten only.

8.1 L Engine: Remove and retain cap and dispose of oil filter (B) properly.

8.1 L Engine: Install oil filter and retain with cap.

Fill crankcase with proper amount of engine oil. (See Diesel Engine Oil in the Fuel And Lubricants section for proper oil specification).

IMPORTANT: If diesel fuel sulfur content exceeds 0.7 percent, change oil every 100 hours.
