Cold Weather Starting With Ether Starting Aid

CAUTION: Avoid personal injury and damage to the engine. Inject fluid only while engine is turning.

Either starting aid will only work in the "RUN" or "START" position.

Turn key switch to start the engine. As soon as the engine starts to turn over, press the ether starting aid button (A).

As soon as the engine starts, release the key and the ether starting aid button.

If temperature is below -5°C (23°F), hold ether starting aid button down for two or three seconds after engine starts. Repeat procedure until engine runs without faltering.

IMPORTANT: To assure proper lubrication, operate engine at low speed, with no load for one to two minutes. Extend this period to two to four minutes when operating at temperatures below freezing.
