Single Tine Separator Variable Drive Belt-Replacing

With separator engaged and running, set tine separator drive to the slowest speed allowing driven sheaves to close.

CAUTION: Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key.

Shift dual range gear case to neutral position.

Disconnect hose (A) at rotary hydraulic coupling using two wrenches and pry driver sheaves completely open.

Loosen cap screws (B) holding single tine separator drive gear case and adjusting nuts (C) on adjusting bolt (E).

NOTE: Clean and remove plug (D) to relieve vacuum in grease cavity and ease opening of driver sheaves.

Use adjusting bolt (E) to move gear case and sheave assembly to the left.

Remove old belt and install new one. Rotate pulleys by hand to seat belt.

Reinstall and tighten plug (D) on driver sheave.

Adjust driven sheave gap to specification. Adjust bolt (E) to move gear case and sheave assembly to right while rotating pulleys.

Specification

Tighten cap screws (B) and inner adjusting nut (C) on adjusting bolt (E). Install hose using two wrenches.

Shift two speed gear case to original speed range. Start engine and engage separator. Cycle variable drive through complete range several times. Disengage separator drive.

Check sheave gap again after several hours of harvesting and adjust as required.
