Chopper (General Information)

causym CAUTION: Do not let anyone stand behind chopper while it is running. Shut OFF engine, set parking brake set and remove key before adjusting chopper.

Before performing service or maintenance on raised chopper, use lift actuator to snap lock-out pins into place.

Normal use wears the bottom of chopper fins to a sharp edge.

For Chopper High Speed:

  • Grain

For Chopper Low Speed:

  • Corn

To change chopper to high speed or low speed, see Changing Chopper Drive Speeds later in this section.

Start with the knifebank in the fully disengaged position. If a better cut quality is desired, adjust knifebank to the fully engaged position (see Chopper Stationary Knifebank Adjusting later in this section).
