Replacing Knife Sections

1. Fully lower platform to ground.

causym CAUTION: Always lower reel lift safety stops when working under reel.

Knife sections are extremely sharp. Always wear gloves when handling knives.

2. Raise reel and lower lift cylinder safety stops (A) on both ends of platform.

3. Set parking brake, shut off engine and remove key.

4. Position knife so hold-downs and/or guard tangs do not inhibit section removal.

5. Remove nuts (A) from knife section.

6. Tap or pry up section (B) and discard.

NOTE: It may be necessary to reposition the knife slightly to enable bolts to pass through guard opening.

7. Remove any damaged screws (A).

NOTE: Section screws have an oval body which must be aligned with oval in knife back before screws will draw up.

8. Insure oval body and head are fully seated against knife back.

9. Install new section. Tighten section retaining nuts to specification.
