Header Calibration

The header calibration must be performed when a header is first used with a combine or when any of the sensors are replaced. The Height Resume sensor must be operating.

NOTE: HYDRAFLEX heads with auxiliary sensors should be calibrated with auxiliary sensor connector unplugged for normal flex operation, or with connector engaged for cutting standing crops 100-350 mm (4-14") off ground. See "Active Header Control Operation" for additional details.

Prepare the header for calibration:

  • Attach header to combine and connect header harness to combine harness
  • Make sure header height sensors (if equipped) are operating
  • Start combine and drive onto a level firm surface

Press the diagnostic switch. DIA will appear on the triple display tachometer.

Press the calibration switch. CAL and conc will appear on the triple display tachometer.

Press the up or down arrow keys until CAL and hdr appears on the triple display tachometer.

NOTE: If Hydraflex platform is equipped with auxiliary sensors H-dn will appear.

Press the enter switch to access the header calibration mode. hdr and H-dn (P-dn will appear for a HYDRAFLEX head that has pressure in it) will now appear on the triple display tachometer.

Establish sensor minimum setting.

Lower and tilt the header with the header raise/lower and tilt switch (A) until it rests flat on the ground.


A-Header Raise/Lower Switch

If H-dn is displayed, go to next step.

If P-dn is displayed, decrease HYDRAFLEX pressure with the HYDRAFLEX button until pressure is below 1000 psi (6900 kPa) (69 bar).

HYDRAFLEX pressure will be displayed as the pressure is lowered.

H-dn will appear when pressure is below 1000 psi (6900 kPa) (69 bar).

Raise the header completely with the header raise/lower switch (A).
