General Receiver Functions

Receiver is equipped with three FM radio bands (FM1, FM2 and FM3), but allows six presets in each band, for a total of 18 FM presets.

Turning On Power

With ignition ON, receiver may be turned ON or OFF by pressing PWR button (J). Pressing ON/AUDIO knob (I) also activates the receiver.

One-Hour Timer

With ignition OFF, receiver may be turned ON by pressing PWR button or ON/AUDIO knob activating the one hour timer. Receiver turns OFF after one hour. Timer may be reactivated by pressing PWR button or ON/AUDIO knob again.

Display

Receiver displays the time of day when the receiver is OFF. Momentarily pressing DISPL/TM SET button (F) when receiver is ON toggles between displays.

  • When receiver is in AM, FM1, FM2, FM3 or WX, display toggles between frequency and time of day.
  • When in CD or CD changer modes, display toggles between track number, elapsed time and time of day.
Programmable Eject Default

Player is programmed to return to radio mode once CD is ejected. This default may be reset to "eject audio mute." In this mode, player acts as an independent source. Upon ejecting a CD, audio volume mutes and display reads "NO CD". Receiver remains muted until BAND button is pressed, enabling radio.

To change the Eject default:

1. Press and hold DSPL/TM SET button for two seconds or until hour digits flash.

2. Press CD mode button (C) to toggle between P.PLAY and EJMUTE.

Receiver returns to normal operation after five seconds of inactivity.

CD Button Functions

TUNE (A) - Forwards to next track. Display will show track number and elapsed time.

SEEK (B) - Reverses to beginning of track. If button is pressed during the first eight seconds, the previous track will play. Display will show track number and elapsed time.

2/RPT (C) - Repeats current track. "RPT" icon on display indicates that this feature is ON and track will be repeated until RPT is pressed again.

3/RDM (D) - Activates random track selection. "RDM" icon will illuminate on display. Tracks CD will play in random order. Press RDM button again to turn OFF "random play" beginning with the next track played.

4/REV (E) - Press and hold RV to fast reverse. Upon release, CD will play at normal speed. Display will show track number and elapsed time.

5/PAUSE (F) - Pauses CD. "PAUS" will be displayed. Press PAUSE again to resume playing the CD.

6/FF (G) - Press and hold FF to fast forward. Upon release, CD will play at normal speed. Display will show track number and elapsed time.

EJECT (H) - Press to eject a CD.

SCAN/DIM (I) - Press SCAN to scan all tracks on CD. Player immediately advances to next track on CD. "SCAN" along with track number will appear on display for 10 seconds and play selected track. CD advances to next track, plays 10 seconds and continues. To deactivate scan, press SCAN again.

Playing a Compact Disc

The integral CD receiver will play your full size CD's.

1. Turn ignition and receiver ON.

2. Insert a disc partway into slot (label side up). Player will automatically pull disc in once it has been partially inserted. "CD" icon will appear on display along with track number and elapsed time, and disc will begin to play.

3. If you are listening to the radio, press CD button to play a CD that has been loaded into the player. If no CD has been loaded, display will show "NO CD" for five seconds and return to the default display. If a CD has been loaded, display will show track number and elapsed time on track.

If a CD is ejected and not removed within 25 seconds, CD will reload.

A CD may be inserted while the receiver is OFF. To do so, press Eject and insert a CD within 25 seconds.

Error Messages

The following error messages may appear while in CD Player mode:

NO CD - No CD has been loaded in the player.

    FOCUS - Lens could not focus on CD. Possible reasons include:

  • Disc is inserted upside down - eject and reinsert CD.
  • Disc is dirty, scratched, or wet - try cleaning CD.
  • Lens is dirty - clean CD lens with a lens cleaner.
  • It is very humid - wait an hour and try again.

    TRACKING - Loss of tracking control. Possible reasons include:

  • Disc is dirty or scratched - try cleaning CD.
  • Lens is dirty - clean CD lens with a lens cleaner.

MOTOR ER - Load/unload motor problem - contact dealer.
