Adjust Reel Drive Gear

1. Remove cap screws (A) and reel gear covers (B and C).

2. Remove cap screws (C) and tone wheel (D).

3. Loosen motor mount cap screws (A).

4. Slide motor and drive gear (B) down until gear rests firmly on larger, driven gear (C).

5. Raise motor and drive gear 1.5 mm (1/16 in.) and tighten cap screws to specification.

Specification

Motor Mount Cap Screws -Torque 27 N·m 20 lb-ft

6. Rotate reel to verify there are no tight spots between gears. If tight areas are encountered, loosen cap screws, slightly raise motor and drive gear, and retighten cap screws to specification.

7. Reinstall tone wheel and reel gear cover.
