Chaffer/Sieve Elements—Remove and Install

1.

   A - Clip

   B - Lock

   C - Access Door

   Shut OFF engine, set park brake and remove key to help prevent accidental starting and personal injury.

   Avoid damage to chaffer/sieve elements. Completely close louvers before removing elements from machine.

   It is not necessary to remove the chopper or spreader (if equipped) to remove chaffer/sieve elements. Chopper or spreader must be fully raised.

   Sieve removal is similar to chaffer removal.

   Open clip (A) and turn lock (B) to open access door (C).

   C - Electrical Harness

   Chaffer motor does not need to be removed.

   Remove cap screws (A) and cover (B).

3. Disconnect electrical harness (C) from the chaffer motor.

   B - Cap Screw and Nut

   C - Cap Screws

   D - Cap Screws and Nuts

   Tailboard does not need to be removed.

   Lower Tailboard (A):

   1. Remove cap screw and nut (B) from both sides of machine.

   2. Loosen cap screws (C) from both sides of machine.

   3. Remove cap screws and nuts (D) from underneath center of tailboard.

   4. Pull tailboard rearward and lower.

   Chaffer Removal:

   1. Remove cap screws (A) and plastic fingers (B) from both sides of machine.

   2. Remove cap screws (C) from both sides of machine.

   3. Slide chaffer element through rear of machine.

   4. Inspect grain seals on chaffer element and repair or replace as needed.

   D - Electrical Harness

   E - Cap Screws (4 used)

   Sieve Removal:

   1. Loosen cap screw (A) on both sides of machine.

   2. Lift rail (B) and place over bushing (C).

   3. Disconnect electrical harness (D) from the sieve motor.

   4. Remove cap screws (E) from both sides of machine.

   5. Slide sieve element through rear of machine.

   6. Inspect grain seals on sieve element and repair or replace as needed.

7. Sieve Installation:

   1. Install sieve element through rear of machine.

   2. Lower rails and install electrical harness.

   3. Tighten cap screws to specification.

      Sieve Cap Screws	Torque	37 N·m (27 lb·ft)

   Chaffer Installation:

   1. Install chaffer and install electrical harness.

   2. Tighten cap screws (C) to specification.

      Chaffer Cap Screws	Torque	37 N·m (27 lb·ft)

   3. Install plastic fingers (B) on both sides of chaffer.

   4. Tighten cap screws (A) to specification.

      Plastic Finger Cap Screws	Torque	8 N·m (71 lb·in)

9. Raise tailboard and install previously removed hardware.

10. Install previously removed cover and retain with cap screws.

11. Close access door and retain with lock and clip.
