IMPORTANT:
Do not drain cooling system to protect against freezing. Heater does not drain completely, so damage would result.
Before cold weather, be sure cooling system has enough antifreeze. Use a reliable brand of permanent-type ethylene glycol antifreeze which
|
contains a rust inhibitor and water pump lubricant, but does not contain a leak-stopping additive, (see Fuels and Lubricants in this manual for correct recommendations).
After adding antifreeze, turn heater ON and run engine until it reaches operating temperature. This mixes the solution and circulates it through the system.
