Separator Variable Drive Belt-Replacing

With separator engaged, set separator drive to slowest speed allowing driven sheaves to close.

causym CAUTION: Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key.

Shift dual range gearcase to neutral position.

Disconnect hose (A) at rotary hydraulic coupling using two wrenches and pry driver sheaves completely open.

Loosen cap screws (B) holding separator drive gearcase and adjusting nuts (C) on adjusting bolt (E).

NOTE: Clean and remove plug (D) to relieve vacuum in grease cavity and ease opening of driver sheaves.

Use adjusting bolt (E) to move gearcase and sheave assembly to the left.

Remove and replace belt. Rotate pulleys by hand to seat belt.

Reinstall and tighten plug (D) on driver sheave.

Adjust driven sheave gap to specification. Adjust bolt (E) to move gearcase and sheave assembly to right while rotating pulleys.

Specification

Sheaves -Gap 8 mm (5/16 in)

Tighten cap screws (B) and inner adjusting nut (C) on adjusting bolt (E). Install and tighten hydraulic hose.

Shift two speed gearcase to original speed range.

Start engine and engage separator. Cycle variable drive through speed range several times. Disengage separator drive.

NOTE: Check sheave gap again after several hours and adjust as required.
