Chopper Belt-Replacing

causym CAUTION: Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key.

Loosen lock nuts (A) to relieve tension on discharge beater drive belt (B).

Remove discharge beater belt from chopper jackshaft to remove chopper belt.

Release latch (A) and lift shield (B) over pins (C).

Remove quick-lock pins (D) from shield (E) and remove.

Raise chopper assembly fully with switch (A) until lock-out pins snap into place.

Remove belt from sheave (A), idlers (B) and sheave (C).

Install replacement belt on desired speed sheaves.

IMPORTANT: When lowering chopper, verify belt aligns with proper sheaves.

Pull lock-out pins rearward and rotate up until handles rest on bracket.

Lower chopper fully with switch and verify belt aligns with sheaves.

Verify washer (D) is positioned between end of gauge (E) and bottom of step. Adjust as required.

Install discharge beater belt on chopper jackshaft.

Tighten nut (B) until washer (C) is positioned between end of gauge (D) and bottom of step.

Tighten lock nut (A).

Install previously removed chopper shields.
