Cold Weather Starting With Ether Starting Aid

CAUTION: Avoid personal injury and damage to engine. Inject fluid only while engine is turning.

A - Ether Starting Aid Button

Turn key switch to start engine. As soon as engine starts to turn over, press ether starting aid button (A).

As soon as engine starts, release key and ether starting aid button.

If temperature is below -5°C (23°F), hold ether starting aid button down for two or three seconds after engine starts. Repeat procedure until engine runs without faltering.

IMPORTANT: To assure proper lubrication, operate engine at low speed, with no load for one to two minutes. Extend this period to two to four minutes when operating at temperatures below freezing.
