Starter

If starter fails to operate or operates sluggishly, the cause may not be in starter but one of the following:

• Loose, dirty, broken or corroded cables and wires
• Low battery output
• Run down batteries
• Crankcase oil of wrong viscosity

Starter is located on the left back side of the engine

If these checks do not correct the problem, see your John Deere dealer.
