Chaffer/Sieve Elements—Remove and Install

1. CAUTION:

   A - Grommet

   B - Chaffer/Sieve Harness

   Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key to help prevent accidental starting and personal injury.

   IMPORTANT: Avoid damage to chaffer/sieve elements. Completely close chaffer/sieve louvers before removing elements from machine.

   NOTE: It is not necessary to remove chopper or spreader (if equipped) to remove chaffer/sieve elements. Chopper or spreader must be fully raised.

   Sieve removal is similar to chaffer removal.

   Remove grommets (A) before disconnecting electrical harness (B).

   B - Air Chute

   Remove quick-lock pin (A) to open air chute (B) on both sides of machine.

   A - Cap Screws (2 Used)

   B - Agitator Bracket

   Remove cap screws (A) and agitator bracket (B) on both sides of machine.

   Chaffer motor does not have to be removed.

   Remove cap screws (A) and motor cover (B).

   A - Tailboard

   B - Cap Screw and Nut

   C - Cap Screws

   D - Cap Screws and Nuts

   Tailboard does not need to be removed.

   Lower Tailboard (A):

   1. Remove cap screw and nut (B) from both sides of machine.

   2. Loosen cap screws (C) from both sides of machine.

   3. Remove cap screws and nuts (D) from underneath center of tailboard.

   4. Pull tailboard rearward and lower.

   A - Retaining Bolts

   Remove chaffer/sieve retaining bolts (A) and springs from both sides of machine.

7. Slide chaffer/sieve element through rear of machine.

8. Inspect grain seals on chaffer/sieve element and repair or replace as needed.

9. Install chaffer/sieve element through rear of machine and tighten retaining bolts to specification.

10. Raise tailboard and install previously removed and loosened hardware.

11. Install previously removed motor cover and retain with cap screws.

12. Install agitator bracket on both side of machine with cap screws.

13. Close air chutes on both sides of machine and retain with quick-lock pins.

14. Install previously removed grommet and connect previously removed electrical harness.
