Chopper (General Information)
CAUTION: Do not let anyone stand behind chopper while it is
running. Shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key before
adjusting chopper. Normal use wears the bottom of chopper
fins to a sharp edge.
The fine cut chopper cuts the straw discharged from the separator
when the chop to drop door is closed. See Residue Management Setup
in CommandCenter Display Screens section for changing chop to drop
door position.
The chop to drop door can also be set to drop the straw discharged
from the separator into a windrow behind the machine, when the door
is opened.
Advanced PowerCast Tailboard is used to distribute the chaff
material from the cleaning shoe to the width of the header when the
chop to drop door is opened.
For Chopper High Speed:
For Chopper Low Speed:
To change chopper to high speed or low speed, see Chopper Drive
Speeds—Changing later in this section.
Start with knifebank in fully disengaged position. If better
cut quality is desired, adjust knifebank to fully engaged position,
see Chopper Stationary Knifebank—Adjusting later in this section.
NOTE: For in cab chopper adjustment switches, see CommandTouch
Armrest Console section for further information. For in
cab spreader adjustment switches, see CommandTouch Armrest Console
