Bleeding HydraFlex System

1. IMPORTANT: Bleeding the HydraFlex system requires a DR port-compatible, female coupler with attached hose (see your John Deere dealer).

   A - Feeder House Safety Stop

   Bleeding the HydraFlex system requires 2 people.

   Attach platform to combine (see ATTACHING AND DETACHING section of this manual).

2. Completely raise feeder house and lower safety stop (A) onto hydraulic cylinder rod.

   A - HydraFlex Pressure Adjust Switch

   B - Selection Dial

   HydraFlex system has an accumulator (stored pressure in system). To avoid injury, HydraFlex hydraulic pressure must be decreased to 0 kPa (0 psi) before servicing.

   Press HydraFlex pressure adjust switch (A).

4. Turn selection dial (B) counter clockwise to decrease hydraulic pressure. Decrease pressure to 0 kPa (o psi).

   Remove cap screw (A) and open side shield (B).

6. Thoroughly clean area around DR port (C).

7. NOTE: Capture fluid in a clean container.

   Connect female coupler with hose to DR port (C).

8. CAUTION: Hydraulic pressure can increase quickly resulting in serious injury. Increase HydraFlex pressure slowly during bleeding procedure.

   Activate HydraFlex system and slowly increase pressure until escaping fluid is free of air bubbles.

9. Remove female coupler and close side shield.

10. Decrease HydraFlex pressure back to 0 kPa (0 psi).

11. CAUTION: Verify hydraulic pressure is decreased before repeating bleeding procedure.

    Repeat procedure on opposite side of platform.
