Maintenance As Required

CAUTION: Serious injury or death may result if platform lowers during maintenance. Raise platform completely, engage feeder house safety stop, shut OFF engine, set parking brake, and remove key.

IMPORTANT: Walking on belt is not recommended.

Stepping on cleats causes them to crack and the belt to sag.

  1. IMPORTANT: Failure to remove material may result in premature belt wear or tracking issues.

    A - Belt

    If belt (A) is starting to bulge at any location remove material from affected areas.

    1. Pull front edge of the belt (A) out from underneath the crop ramps (B) and clean immediately belt.

    2. Put the belt under crop ramps again.



  2. IMPORTANT: Failure to remove foreign objects may result in belt slippage and/or severe cleat damage.

    If foreign objects (A) are found on top of float arms (B), remove them immediately.



  3. IMPORTANT: Failure to correct belt mistracking may result in severe belt damage.

    NOTE: If rear edge of belt (A) is not aligned, it may be an indication that belt is not seated correctly.

    If belt is not seated properly in V-guide, release belt tension and ensure roller V-guide is free from debris.



  4. Move belt drive motor and gearcase fore/aft to ensure belt moves freely.

    Cleaning material build up at side shields.

    NOTE: Small amounts of material pass out both ends of cutterbar, falling onto skid plates and vibrating rearward onto ground.

    In certain crop conditions (typically tough or damp) a buildup of crop material can occur. It is best to open side shields periodically and inspect knife drive shaft (A) and knife drive (B), cleaning if necessary.
