General Information
The strength of a draper platform is its ability to deliver
consistent crop delivery to the combine. Like most machines, crop
conditions and machine adjustments directly influence a draper's performance.
Draper adjustment techniques are different from conventional cutting
platforms. The following general guidelines are provided to increase
an operator's awareness of factors which affect platform performance
and to help determine initial settings.
Later in this section, additional specific guidelines are given
to help you set your platform for certain adverse or unique crops
or conditions.
When cutting close to the ground, it is important to avoid over-lowering
the combine feeder house as this may drive the cutterbar and center
draper pan into the ground, causing damage.
