Draper Belt Protection System

A Belt Protection System (BPS) is integrated into the flex draper platform to minimize side belt damage due to slippage.

A speed sensor is mounted at the idler roller of each side belt and on the left-hand belt drive motor. By monitoring the speed of the idler rollers compared to the belt drive motor, belt slippage is quickly identified.

When belt slippage occurs, the Belt Protection System alerts:

• Belt Slippage Warning — Platform continues to operate and a warning is displayed on armrest screen.
• Belt Slippage Shutdown — Side belt and reel drives shut OFF and a warning is displayed on armrest screen.

If a shutdown occurs:

1. Disengage header and separator switches.
2. Identify and correct the cause of belt slippage.
3. Engage separator and header switches.
4. Verify belts are operating properly.
