Feed Drum Settings
Adjusting finger timing is critical in achieving proper material
flow from the draper center feed belt to the combine feeder house.
For most crop conditions, operate feed drum with the fingers
fully advanced (finger timing rotated fully clockwise as viewed from
the right-hand end). If crop material is being pulled up behind the
feed drum or excessive grain is being threshed, retard finger timing
(rotate counter clockwise).
When harvesting dry high volume crops rotate the finger timing
counterclockwise in 10 degree increments to prevent material bunching
in front of the feed drum or material appearing to go over the feed
drum. Continue making adjustments until the crop flows under the feed
drum smoothly.
See ADJUSTMENTS — FEEDING RELATED section in this manual
for specifics on accomplishing feed drum adjustments.
