Draper Belt Speed

In-cab belt speed adjustment is available standard on 70 Series and Later combines. One adjustment changes side belt speeds proportionately up or down. Set belt speed for the prevailing crop conditions and adjust for an even distribution of crop material across the entire center feed belt.

Indications of incorrect belt speeds are:

    Indications that belt speeds are to slow:

  • Heavy loading of side belts.
  • Heavy loading of material along sides of center belt.
  • Excessive plugging of feed drum and/or feeder house.
  • Crops pulled under platform by side draper belts.

Indications that belt speeds are to fast:

  • Crops being pushed across center belt.
  • Crops feeding under opposing side draper belt.

Faster belt speeds are typically required in tough crop conditions.

Recommended Belt Speed: 160 — 220
