Leveling Platform to Ground

If combine is not equipped with lateral tilt feeder house it is essential to level platform when cutting on the ground.

NOTE: Before performing leveling procedures, park machine on a flat, level surface.

    Side-to-Side Leveling

  • Lower platform until cutterbar is approximately 457 mm (18 in.) off the ground.
  • Measure distance from extreme right knife guard to the ground. Repeat measurement on extreme left-hand guard. If these two dimensions are significantly different, it is necessary to reset cutterbar level.

This adjustment is typically accomplished through adjustments at the feeder house. Refer to combine Operator's Manual for procedure.

Front-to-Back (Fore/Aft) Leveling with Manual Fore/Aft Feeder House

The HydraFlex™ draper front to back engagement angle is designed for optimum performance on your combine. It is recommended that the factory feeder house fore/aft tilt frame setting be used. If adjustments are desired or if ground following performance is questionable, refer to your combine Operator's Manual for instruction.

Tilting the feeder house forward from this position is not recommended. Excessive forward tip can cause material to push ahead of the guards ultimately leading to lost uncut crop.

Tilting the feeder house rearward from this position is not recommended. Excessive rearward tilt may result in the frame assembly to be inadvertently pushed into the ground. This causes debris and soil to collect on or in the draper belts and float system. This adjustment also adversely affects performance and causes side draper belts to stall.

Front-to-Back (Fore/Aft) Leveling with Hydraulic Fore/Aft Feeder House

If HydraFlex™ draper is used with a combine that has hydraulic fore/aft tilt feeder house, run tilt angle at a 0 degree tilt for best results in most field conditions. If ground performance is questionable, draper can be tilted forward or rearward as needed .
