Installing Regular Drawbar Support (55-60 Series Tractors)

IMPORTANT: Drawbar support (available from your John Deere dealer) is required on John Deere 4055-4955 tractors with regular drawbar.

   A - Support Channel

   B - Support Strap (2 used)

   C - Chain (2 used)

   D - Spacer

   Remove intermediate safety chain support and replace with spacer (D).

2. Install support channel (A) under drawbar, using one 3/4 x 4-1/2 in. Grade 8 cap screw and one 3/4 x 7 in. Grade 8 cap screw. Use 0.25 in. washer on 3/4 x 7 in. cap screw when attaching to 4055-4455 tractors.

3. Attach each support strap (B) to tractor sway block support with one 5/8 x 4-1/2 in. cap screw, lock washer, and nut.

4. Attach each chain (C) to support strap with one 5/8 x 2-1/4 in. cap screw, square washer, lock washer, and nut.

5. Measure chain length from support strap to support channel. If necessary, remove excess links.

6. Attach each chain to support channel with one U-bolt and two 5/8 in. lock washers and nuts.

7. Use hole in support channel for intermediate safety chain support.
