High Flow System Boom Flow Characteristics—Boom Flow Rate vs. Pressure

N104096-UN-10JUN13

Pressure vs. Flow

A - System Pressure

B - System Flow

C - Orifice Valve Closed

D - High Flow with 28 % Nitrogen—Dual Flowmeter

E - High Flow with 36.6 M (120 ft)—Dual Flowmeter

NOTE: Boom flow rate is not recommended under 15 L/min (4 gpm) due to system limitations.

The curves show the maximum output. They are shown with agitation off. Using agitation will reduce maximum output.

The 28% nitrogen curve is based on the 1.13 conversion factor between nitrogen and water. The test system was equipped with both 50 and 80 mesh pressure strainers. The curve for high flow with 28 % nitrogen moves toward the water based curve on graph if the 80 mesh strainer is removed.

* A pressure drop occurs between the pressure sensor located on boom section shut-off valves and the nozzle tip. The larger the flow rate, the larger the pressure drop.
