Inspect Service Brake Components—Annually

  1. CAUTION: Service brake system operates at high pressure. To avoid the risk of injury to yourself or bystanders, DO NOT crack lines in this system if brake bleeding is necessary (See Bleed Service Brakes in Chassis section of this manual). The hydraulic brake components in this system should only be serviced by your John Deere dealer.

    A - Spring Pins

    B - Caliper Pins

    C - Brake Pads

    Remove spring pins (A) and caliper pins (B).



  2. Remove brake pads (C) from between rotor and caliper.

    C - Rotor Thickness

    Inspect brake pad material (A) for deep grooves, uneven wear, and minimum thickness.

  4. Inspect rotor face (B) for deep grooves and uneven wear.

  5. Inspect rotor for minimum thickness (C).

  6. (See your John Deere dealer for replacement components as necessary.) Re-assemble brakes in reverse order of removal.
