Replace Air Drier Cartridge—Annually

  1. CAUTION: On board air system is charged at 689—896 kPa (100—130 psi). To avoid injury to yourself or others, wear safety goggles and gloves and be sure others are clear of area before relieving on board air system pressure.

    A - Drain Valve

    C - O-ring

    Relieve air system pressure by opening valve (A).


  2. Using a strap wrench, turn the desiccant cartridge (B) counterclockwise, remove and discard.

  3. NOTE: If there is excessive oil present in desiccant filter, compressor may require servicing.

    Remove and discard O-ring (C) from adapter plate stud.

  4. Clean top surface of adapter plate and threaded stud.

  5. Apply a light coat of grease (supplied with new cartridge) to O-ring. Install O-ring on adapter plate.

  6. Apply a generous coat of grease to the new desiccant cartridge gasket surface.

  7. Thread new cartridge into adapter plate by turning clockwise until gasket contacts adapter plate. Tighten cartridge an additional 1/2 turn. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
