Solution System Valves

Remove Protections (If Equipped)

NOTE: The machines prepared for spraying sugar cane have additional protections.

  1. Take off the rubber straps (B).

    A - Protection Rubber

    B - Rubber Straps

    C - Slots J

  2. Disconnect the slots J (C).

  3. Release the protection rubber (A).

  4. Take off the rubber straps (C).

    A - Handle

    B - Protection Rubber

    C - Rubber Straps

    D - Slots J

  5. Disconnect slots J (D).

  6. Release the protection rubber (B).

  7. Slightly raise the eductor and pull the handle (A) to unlatch the eductor.

Suction Valve

Suction valve allows the operator to select which tank the solution pump draws from.

With the valve handle (A) in the position shown, the solution pump only draws from the solution tank.

N98321
N98321-UN-04MAY12

A - Valve Handle

Rotating valve handle to the opposite direction closes off the solution tank and allow the pump to draw only from the rinse tank.

The valve is closed when the handle is straight up.

Pressure Bypass / Rinse Valve

Pressure Bypass/Rinse valve allows the operator to direct the solution flow to the pressure side of the solution pump.

With the valve handle (A) in the position shown, the solution is directed to the spray boom for normal spraying operation.

N98320
N98320-UN-04MAY12

A - Valve Handle

Rotate the valve handle (A) to the right-hand side, to direct solution for the rinse nozzles inside the solution tank.

Rotate the valve handle (A) to the left-hand side, to direct solution for the solution tank when using the sprayers solution pump to load.

Quick Fill™ Valve

Quick Fill™ valve completes the connection between the nurse tank and the sprayer.

To open the connection between the nurse tank and the sprayer, connect the nurse tank hose to the machine and rotate valve handle (A) parallel with plumbing.

N98322
N98322-UN-04MAY12

A - Valve Handle

After filling procedure is completed, rotate the valve handle (A) back to the closed position and disconnect the nurse tank hose from the machine.

Solution Tank or Sump Valve

Solution tank valve or sump valve allows the operator to select the loading method.

Place the valve handle (A) perpendicular to solution hose as shown to close valve.

N84878
N84878-UN-09JUN09

A - Valve Handle

Place the valve handle (A) parallel to solution hose to open valve.

To spray or load the sprayers solution tank using a nurse pump, place the valve handle (A) in opened position.

For some loading and maintenance procedures, place the valve handle (A) in closed position.

Eductor Flow Rate Valve

Eductor flow rate valve allows the operator to direct solution to a venturi at the top of the solution tank. This venturi creates the necessary vacuum to draw solution from the eductor into the solution tank.

Rotate valve handle (A) to the horizontal position to create suction at the eductor.

N98446
N98446-UN-07MAY12

A - Valve Handle

B - Decal

Rotate valve handle (A) back to the vertical position to stop suction.

NOTE: The decal (B) explains the functions of the eductor flow rate valve.

Eductor Hopper Valve

Eductor hopper valve allows chemical to be drawn from bottom of the eductor hopper to the top of the solution tank.

NOTE: This system is only operational when the valve handle (A) is open.

CQ296048
CQ296048-UN-09APR13

A - Valve Handle

Eductor Rinse Valve

Eductor rinse valve allows operator to direct solution to rinse eductor hopper and rinse chemical containers.

Rotate valve handle (A) to rinse.

CQ296049
CQ296049-UN-09APR13

A - Valve Handle

NOTE: This system is only operational when the valve handle (A) is open.

Agitation Flow Rate Valve

Agitation flow rate valve allows the operator to regulate the amount of agitation inside the solution tank.

Rotate valve handle (A) to create desired agitation in the tank.

N81316
N81316-UN-04SEP08

A - Valve Handle

To shutoff agitation, place valve handle (A) perpendicular to the solution hose as shown.

NOTE: To minimize foaming run at lower agitation rate.

Turn off agitation when tank volume drops below 378.5 L (100 gal) to prevent foaming and air in system.

Orifice Valve

When applying low application rates, it may be necessary to turn orifice valve (A) to the closed (low) position.

N81317
N81317-UN-08JUN09

A - Valve Handle

If solution flow rate is greater than 100 L/min (26 gal/min) open orifice valve all the way, as shown.(See Applying Low Application Rates in SprayStar™ Section.)

Spray Boom Shutoff Valve

Spray boom shutoff valve allows the operator to close the pressure line to the spray boom. Closing the pressure line limits the amount of solution that drains and limits the amount of air introduced to the system.

To open, place the valve handle (A) parallel to the solution hose as shown.

N81318
N81318-UN-08JUN09

A - Valve Handle

To close, place the valve handle (A) perpendicular to the solution hose to close the valve.

CAUTION: Do not close the flowmeter shutoff valve with the solution pump running. This can trap pressure in the boom that can be hazardous when removing flowmeters for cleaning.
