Engine Start

CAUTION: Avoid the possibility of personal injury or death:

  • Be sure that everyone is clear of the machine.
  • Only start up the engine from the operator’s seat.
  • Do not start up the engine by shorting across the starter terminals. Sprayer starts in gear if the normal circuitry is bypassed.
  • Engine starting with the multi-function lever out of the park position indicates a malfunction of the neutral start circuit. To repair the neutral start system, see your John Deere dealer.

  1. Turn off all the switches and accessories, including the radio and dome light.

  2. Move the multi-function lever (A) to PARK position.
